According to the new ranking published by China’s Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID) today, popular cryptocurrencies including Tezos (XTZ) and Zilliqa (ZIL) have risen significantly from their previous positions within the last three months.

The ranking, which includes 37 cryptocurrencies listed by the subsidiary of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, saw Tezos (XTZ) moving from its previous 35th position to 23, while Zilliqa rose from its 26th spot to 21st.

Other crypto projects on the list include EOS at the number one position, Etheruem, IOST, Tron, NEO, and Bitcoin ranking 14.

The CCID stated that the 37 crypto projects were evaluated using three essential criteria, including basic technology, applicability, and innovation.

The “basic technology criteria,” which consists of 65% of the total index, access all listed crypto projects based on their networks’ performance, security, and decentralization.

The “applicability” context examines the projects via their networks’ support for practical application, and it contributes 20% of the entire index.

Lastly, the CCID examines the projects’ innovativeness to see how often the network developers release upgrades to address all arising issues, as they account for 15% of the total index.

Interestingly, the Zilliqa project, which recorded 90.5 as its total index in the previous rating, gained steam by scoring 95.8. On the other hand, Tezos’ total index also grew from 75.4 to a massive 91.3.

Between June and August 2020, both projects have made efforts that contributed to this latest achievement.

In June, Zilliqa announced that its blockchain had received the necessary upgrades that enable the first-ever smart contract platform built on sharding.

The move was made to address the scalability problem bedeviling notable blockchain projects, including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

On the other hand, Tezos, which recently celebrated the baking of its 1,000,000th block, has not experienced a dull moment ever since, as it keeps rolling out significant upgrades for users.

The Tezos blockchain is considered as one of the best by notable firms, and it is regularly adopted to launch several blockchain-related projects.
