3. Icon Mainnet 2.0 Launch
The much-anticipated Icon 2.0 mainnet launch is finally around the corner. The launch is also expected to take place via a network proposal.

4. Firo Network Update
Firo has announced the launch of several strategic updates on its network. Updates like its FiroPoW and InstantSend. In addition, the Firo v0.14.9.0 will be launched on October 26th, 2021. This version upgrade will also lead to the activation of FiroPoW and InstantSend.

5. Ethereum Altair Mainnet Upgrade
Ethereum 2.0 launch is yet one step closer to complete, as its Altair upgrade goes live this week. The ETH 2.0 upgrade, according to analysts, might provide a lasting solution to Ethereum scalability issues.
Moreover, the upgrade will see a move from a Proof-of-Work to a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism for the Ethereum chain. On the other hand, the Altair mainnet upgrade is set to launch on October 27, 2021, at epoch 74240.
