As revealed recently, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has been looking for possibilities of minting its own utility token with hopes of generating revenue from crypto users. The utility of the token could reportedly ease the transfer of vouchers in the TAT Coin, ultimately speeding up lucidity among tourism operators.
TAT Looking for Utility Token Minting to Attract Crypto Users
It has been reported that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has been in discussions with the Stock Exchange of Thailand over the introduction of the TAT Coin. Along with this, the Bangkok Post told that it is laying an emphasis on the regulatory and viability aspects of such a project.
Yuthasak Supasorn, the governor of the Authority said that Thailand had to make preparations in relation to its digital infrastructure as well as digital literacy for the welfare of its tourism operators. Supasorn said:
“The traditional business model might not be able to keep up with the new changes.”
Yuthasak mentioned the fact that if developed, TAT will be able to send a signal to the rest of the crypto world that the tourism sector of Thailand is back open for business as it endeavors to grapple with the post-Covid effects.
Thailand to Lift its Necessary Quarantine Requirement in Bangkok and Other Regions
As reported by Reuters on Monday, the country will be lifting its mandatory quarantine need in Bangkok along with nine regions from November 1 for people with their vaccination done completely.
In addition to this, it should be noted that the main objective of the Tourism Authority of Thailand under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is to promote the tourism industry of the country and protect the environment.
Also, in order to determine whether the agency is capable of issuing such a token, discussions with the Ministry of Finance and other related agencies will be conducted.
