This initiative aims to collect data-driven insights and promote algorithm development to address difficult problems in agriculture. The prizes for this phase, which have a total value of $10,000, are as follows: First Place - $4,000, Second Place - $3,000, Third Place - $2,000, and Community Award - $1,000 (payable in OCEAN + DMTR).

Ocean Market Phase 2 Datasets Go Live

The Ocean Market has the Phase 2 datasets up on the platform, and the entry deadline is September 30 at 0:00 UTC. As stated in the official blog post, people can visit the linked Questbook page to enter the contest and view the full bounty details. The goal of the collaboration between Ocean's Web3 data sharing and monetization capabilities and Dimitra's agricultural software is to promote the adoption of Web3 and the next generation of farming solutions leveraging data. The Ocean and Dimitra Data Challenge got introduced in July 2022 to maximize yields and reduce operating losses for farmers worldwide using pertinent, beneficial data-driven insights and algorithms.

Ocean-Dimitra Data Challenge

Participants in Phase 2 of the Ocean-Dimitra Data Challenge: Algorithms, Analytics, Narratives & Reports gave access to a dataset that includes information on the soybean crop yield in the 46 districts of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh as well as MODIS satellite data on normalized difference vegetation, leaf area, evapotranspiration, land surface temperature, and rainfall. Studying the satellite data on target soybean yields, ranking the contributing elements, and developing a straightforward model to forecast results based on the features provide difficulty.
