Two days after the launch of the official beta of the decentralized social network Voice based on the EOS blockchain, it was targeted by hackers who decided to create a fake airdrop of the platform’s tokens.
How to create a fake token
The incriminated account eosvoicebeta was created just 4 days ago by another account, signupeoseos, which is obviously already strange in itself since it would be logical that for such a contract the account should originate from Block.one (this is the official one) which has sufficient resources, CPU, RAM and NET to manage such an airdrop.
As can be seen from the image, the logo is similar to the one of the social network Voice, but it doesn’t have enough resources in terms of CPU and RAM, while there is a quite high amount of NET.
Moreover, the account shows that almost 90 thousand resources have been borrowed from the REX (Resource Exchange) system and channelled into the NET.

Furthermore, the transaction history shows how a real spam campaign has started involving the users of the EOS blockchain, to whom 1 fake token VOICE is sent.
In addition to sending the token, the transaction memo states that the beta version is online with the address to access it. The website is obviously different from the original address, but fortunately, it has now been closed.
The real Voice
In any case, the real beta version of Voice will be online on Friday, February 14th and great things are expected from this decentralized social network that aims to eliminate the problem of fake accounts thanks to a KYC registration procedure, but which also promises to protect users’ privacy.
Some time ago, the project’s new CEO, Salah Zalatimo, former CDO of Forbes, was also announced.
Voice.com seems to have cost as much as $30 million, not to mention the RAM Block.one had to invest in for its account: about $25 million.
