Steve Wozniak, the Apple co-founder, loses the Bitcoin scam case against YouTube. After filing a Bitcoin scam-related lawsuit against YouTube last year, he has thirty days to revise the complaint. Moreover, according to a recent court ruling, the video giant YouTube is not responsible for the scams.

According to Bloomberg reports, Wozniak failed to support his lawsuit against YouTube over an advert using his image to promote a fake Bitcoin giveaway.

Sunil Kulkarni is the Santa Clara County Superior Court judge. He said in a tentative ruling on Wednesday that YouTube and its parent firm Google protected by Section 230 of the Communications Decency act.

Federal Act

Moreover, the act is a federal act shielding internet platforms from responsibility for content posted by users. However, Wozniak sued YouTube last July over a typical bogus Crypto giveaway. It stated anyone sending cryptocurrency to a specific address would receive more cryptocurrency in return.

According to him, YouTube failed to remove the fraudulent ads. Moreover, it materially contributed to the scam by selling targeted ads driving traffic to the videos. Additionally it also falsely verified the YouTube channels that carried the videos.

Acted Quickly

In addition, he said that if YouTube had acted quickly to solve this to a reasonable extent, they wouldn’t have been there now.
