  • A Twitter user, Davis, released screenshots of confidential messages exchanged with Paraswap founder Mounir Benchemled.
  • DMs were made public by an account named Davis after “getting insulted” by Paraswap’s corporate account.

On 4th Jan, Paraswaps tweeted “Looks like you’re missing the point of this tweet.. We can clearly see the IQ level of some neo influencers” by its corporate Twitter handler calling our Paraswap cynics.

Davis replied with “ you’re Insulting community members from your corporate account? Not a good look. I think I should leak the DMs and let everyone see how incompetent you are.”

Mounir Benchempled commented asking if he really is a community member as all he has seen is “continuous backlash.”

After that Twitter user, Davis made controversial DMs with Mounir Bechempled public. The conversation seems to have been exchanged through telegram.

Davis accused of “running a coordinated FUD campaign with other influencers”?

In December, Benchemled reached out to Davis through telegram to seek the answer to alleged criticisms Davis had made against ParaSwap regarding its airdrop.

Benchemled asked for an explanation for  “doing a campaign against” ParaSwap and further, he texted “I understand that you may be frustrated by not receiving the airdrop but I see that you are making big accusations and fud with dozens of tweets can you explain.”

To which Davis brushed off by saying it was him who “burned the entire community after spending weeks hyping and airdroping.” He added that he used to be “an active user and big fan of the ParaSwap project.”

Further, on 4 Jan, Davis poked Paraswap by tweeting about the negative price action of PSP since its airdrop with the caption “The 3-month chart they don’t want you to see.”  To which, both Benchemled and ParaSwap’s Twitter account responded: “wasted 3 hrs with a guy with extreme bad faith and very limited IQ.”

After which Davis posted more screenshots of DMs, this time Benchemled asked Davis to meet him. Benchemled texted saying “You think you’re funny, don’t you…I’d like to talk to you face to face and see how’s autistic.”

Benchemled issued a statement clarifying the situation

Benchemled tried to clarify, especially regarding the use of the term “autistic.” He said, “It isn’t my kind to insult someone,” further explaining, “I used his language and that I shouldn’t as a result our community wasn’t happy to envision this.” He also pointed out the fact that it was Davis who first used the term as an insult.

Benchemled explained that he regretted his decision to text Davis and his only intention was to get clarification on the constant anti- Paraswap campaign.

He said “ In dec I reached out to understand his motivation and justification of what happened, my intention was to clarify. It turns that he wasn’t listening and he kept on insulting me and even tweeted that I reached and our project is dying.”

He further explained the sudden airdrop of PSP token:

“We made mistakes and we have apologized many times. however, the principles were too harsh. There’s a community discussion to correct this. However, we’ve got no control, the DAO will have the final call.”

He also talked about the market dynamics saying “It’s the market, most Defi tokens have similar value actions and unfortunately, we don’t have any control over this.”
