In a first for the crypto industry, two leading traders are going to contest in a boxing match in Dubai for World Boxing Council’s first Crypto belt.

Dubai’s Crypto Fight Night to Witness Boxing Match Between Traders

Olympic medalist and two-time World Boxing Champion Amir Khan and Super Boxing League (SBL) have announced the inaugural of Crypto Fight Night in Dubai on October 16, powered by crypto exchange Bybit. The upcoming event will be attended by leading cryptocurrency traders and showcase Dubai as the future of blockchain technology.

According to boxing news website RINGNEWS24, Crypto Fight Night will see an auction of digital assets, including NFTs, and a boxing match between crypto traders. All proceeds from the event will be allocated to humanitarian activities undertaken by Amir Khan Foundation.

The evening’s highlight is a boxing match between pseudonymous crypto trading sensation RookieXBT and notable investor and partner at VC Egirl Capital, Loomdart. Both traders -- who’ve only been viewed as their online avatars -- will make their first public appearance and compete for World Boxing Council’s first-ever crypto belt at the event.

“I’m happy to be participating in an event that brings the crypto family together in a way that’s never been done before,” Rookie told the news outlet. "It’s extremely humbling. I’m looking forward to this event being a success and hopefully something that happens annually.”

"I can’t wait for these to be regular events and let people get revenge for getting dumped on,” Loomdart added.

Crypto Use in Sports and Young Fans

Digital assets are transforming the sports industry by changing the way fans interact with a sport and its players. Like trading cards in the past, fans can now collect sports NFTs or buy their favorite team’s fan tokens that incentivize their engagement. Many opportunities are still in their nascency, but there is enormous scope for development.

SBL CEO & Founder Bill Dosanjh also hinted at blockchain technology’s impact on sports in his statement. He said the association with blockchain will help boxing build support among "millennial and young business generation who have a forward approach.”
