Threat from a police officer has resulted in a Bitcoin trader suicide. The trader, who was said to have commited suicide after receiving threats, blamed a police officer and his brother for his action.
The cryptocurrency trader, on Saturday night, hanged himself from the ceiling in his residence in Ranip, a neighbourhood in Ahmedabad, Indian state of Gujarat.
According to residents of the neighborhood, the victim, Bharat Patel, left a note indicting a police officer and his brother who have been threatening him for some time.

As revealed by Business Standard, the police invested in Bitcoin, and lost afterward.
A police officer revealed that Patel alleged Chirag Savani, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and his elder brother Haresh Savani of pressurizing him to compensate them after they both lost a whopping some in a Bitcoin investment.
As reflected in the note, the deceased said he helped his brother and the police invest in Bitcoin, which latter resulted into huge losses.
Police says it is sending the suicide note to the Forensic Science Laboratory for proper examination, while Ranip police inspector has been charged to conduct proper investigation on the matter using the FSL findings, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dharmendra Sharma has said.
He said the handwriting in the note will be checked if it tallied with that of the deceased, and charges will be filed in case it is genuine.
Patel in the note said he lost 5BTC he invested on behalf of the Savani brothers. Afterward, he was threatened to refund 11,575 bitcoins instead of the 5 Bitcoin he lost during the course of trading.
“There is a huge pressure on me and my brother. I am very disturbed due to bitcoin recovery. Chirag Patel visited my house and threatened me to pay him back the entire bitcoin. I am compelled to commit suicide. And the pressure of the two brothers is responsible for my suicide. My family members have nothing to do with this and they are innocent,” the police officer quoted Patel as saying.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the matter, and will communicate as at when due.
