The South Korean electronics giant, Samsung has announced that crypto and blockchain features will be available in all of their budget smartphones in the future. The news was announced by Business Korea, an English Language local media on 15 May. This move by Samsung is similar to an announcement made previously by them, during the launch of its Galaxy 10 series.

The report stated that Samsung planned to get in touch with major telecommunication companies to look at generating mobile application cards, based on blockchain features.

Chae Won-Cheol, Senior Managing Director from the product strategy team at Samsung said,

“The company will slowly move towards incorporating the crypto and blockchain features in all its phones.”

He added,

“We will lower barriers to new experiences by gradually expanding the number of Galaxy models that support blockchain functions. We will also expand our service target countries after Korea, the United States, and Canada.”

Samsung came out with this news after HTC announced that they would be venturing into something similar.
The new S10 will support BTC, COSM and ENJ. COSM is a token based on the COSMEE blockchain, where users can earn and spend COSM tokens. A few months ago, the gaming-centric cryptocurrency, Enjin [ENJ], finally confirmed its partnership with South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, for the Galaxy S10, at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona.
