It has been reported by Coindesk that Coinbase's director of institutional sales, Christine Sandler, has decided to leave the company and instead work at Fidelity Investments, one of the biggest providers of financial services in the world.

Sandler joined Coinbase in March of 2018 and before that held positions at NYSE Euronext and Barclays Investment Bank. An unnamed source is quoted in the article, attesting that this departure is tied to a change of direction in the company:

"It has become clear that Coinbase is focusing on crypto first and crypto-native hedge funds, and the team that Adam [White, a former Coinbase executive] brought on board was very much focused on the institutional world... Christine is part of that; she had decades of experience of working with traditional financial institutions. Her skills are much better suited to a company that is taking that approach – like Fidelity."

It is at this time unclear which area of Fidelity Sandler will be workin in, but seeing as the firm has recently opened a Fidelity Digital Assets branch, that might just be a good fit.
