A Chinese online celebrity posted an educational video of Bitcoin, it receives many comments and views.

Bitcoin supporters in China are on the move. A famous YouTuber with 273,000 subscribers can be seen posting a video that explains about Bitcoin and blockchain in detail.

As of writing time, the video that was published at the beginning of the month has been viewed 268,080 times and received 1,159 comments.

While on Ixigua, the Chinese version of YouTube, the same video has been viewed more than 500,000 times with almost 5,000 comments.

Compared to China’s 1.4 billion population, the number may seem insignificant. But, it’s a baby-step for a wider adoption of cryptocurrency in the country.

And there couldn’t possibly be any better person to become some sort of “crypto ambassador” than the YouTuber, whose actual name is Li Yongle.

According to 8BTC, Li has even more followers on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, on which he has 2.6 million followers.

The man is a high school math and physics teacher and his other videos on math and science have received likes and even retweeted by state-run official media, like CCTV and People’s Daily.

Some of the things he said on the 15-minutes Bitcoin lesson video is, “What’s in the very first block? So, bitcoin is just a string of numbers? Then how can I have it turned into numbers in my bank card? Bitcoin mining would consume huge energy? OK, now I see what it is. But the central bank would kill it.”

Among the comments, there’s one follower who said, “Mr. Li is quite capable in making complex notions simple; There’s a lack of such preachers in the Chinese crypto community; A majority of people who claim they know about bitcoin actually have a scanty knowledge of it; There’re still a lot of newbies in the crypto space despite the bear market; Controversies about Bitcoin still abound, but it has improved a lot compared with the situation two years ago; The move is good for everyone.”

Prior to Li, a local celebrity, Gao Xiaosong brought up Bitcoin in an episode of his talk show about ancient currency.

It’s really good to see crypto supporters in China stand up and try educating their fellow Chinese about cryptocurrency. Hopefully, many of them will soon realize that it’s not how it’s propagated.
