Health Hero partners with Enjin to bring NFTs into its new health app

Enjin has teamed up with Health Hero, a company that uses digital solutions to encourage healthy habits and wellbeing.

Health Hero, which has partnership with the likes of Microsoft, Slack and Salesforce, will be creating a new application for monitoring health called “Go! By Health Hero”. The app will be using a kind of NFTs that it calls W-NFTs (Well-Being Non Fungible Tokens).

The application is integrated with popular health monitoring tools such as Apple Health and Google Fit. The health data is then used to create W-NFTs which gain new and increasingly unique characteristics as the user makes progress in improving their healthy habits.

Health Hero is already running a pilot for the W-NFTs concept as part of its Global Challenges application. Global Challenges presents a gamified approach towards maintaining wellness, and lets users compete on a leaderboard.

Thanks to the rapid surge in the popularity of NFTs, Enjin has had quite a busy 2021. In March, the project announced Efinity, a blockchain tailored towards NFTs that uses the Polkadot network. They also introduced JumpNet, an Ethereum scaling solution where users can transact with non-fungible tokens without incurring gas fees. Health Hero’s Go! Application will be using JumpNet in order to meet the company’s scalability requirements.

Here’s what Enjin CEO Maxim Blagov had to say about the partnership with Health Hero, which represents one of the earliest examples of NFTs making their way to the health and fitness sector:

“Health Hero’s app highlights how NFTs can be adopted in entirely new and innovative ways by businesses across industries. We are excited to support the first project bringing NFTs to health and fitness, pairing the security of blockchain with new gamification mechanics.”

Enjin is one of the earliest blockchain projects to focus their efforts on non-fungible tokens as a major use case for blockchain technology. The project introduced an Ethereum token standard called ERC-1155, which supports the creation of fungible, semi-fungible and non-fungible tokens.
