VeVe has obtained some significant IP relationships since its beginnings. You may now add Disney to that increasing list as of this week.

Let's take a look at VeVe's most recent statement and what it implies for the digital collectibles environment as a whole.

Diversify Disney’s Offering

What began as a Marvel relationship between VeVe and Disney is rapidly extending into further digital collectible rights for the platform.

Expected IP has been noted to include Disney franchises such as Star Wars, Pixar ( Toy Story, Cards, and so on), and others.

The announcement was made public for the first on VeVe’s Medium website.

Disney character NFTs will be used as a promotional tool for Disney+. The partners have yet to reveal which characters they will use.

Furthermore, the NFTs will be referred to as “Golden Moments”, since the characters will have golden versions as NFTs.

VeVe is set to begin rolling out these NFTs in the weeks running up to November 12 (Disney+ Day).

NFT buyers are likely to include a three-month promotional Disney+ subscription for those who aren’t already subscribed for at least a portion of the NFTs sold by VeVe.

Individuals who acquire the release’s ‘Ultra Rare’ digital collectibles will receive a 12-month promotional Disney+ subscription.

However, promotional Disney+ memberships will only be offered in a few areas.

Nonetheless, it's always encouraging to see some actual NFT implementation these days.

VeVe Enters The Game

We've already seen digital comic IPs from Marvel and DC arrive in the VeVe marketplace. The platform has achieved 500K active users and is on its way to selling 2 million NFTs.

Earlier this month, VeVe commemorated New York Comic-Con with a unique daily drop of NFTs featuring Marvel heroes such as Spider-Man and Thanos.

With the early performance results from Marvel's implementation with VeVe, it looks like Disney is ready to scale up a little by bringing more intellectual property to VeVe.

The deal places Disney squarely among the existing powerful IP NFT participants, which include Funko Pop, Hasbro, and Mattel.

For NFTs on the platform, VeVe and parent firm Ecomi use the ImmutableX Layer 2 scaling protocol.

The financial terms of the relationship, both current, and future, have not been published.
