For the first time ever bitcoin has been mined from volcano power sources with El Salvador close to beginning full operations for its new bitcoin mining revenue stream.

“We’re still testing and installing, but this is officially the first Bitcoin mining from the Volcanode,” said Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s hugely popular president.

In a video shown on Tuesday, a truck brings a container full of asics at the volcano power source facility where those asics are installed.

This new energy stream should go towards making bitcoin more green with further plans on that front to tap into wasted resources through gas flaring which are highly damaging to the environment.

As bitcoin can be mined anywhere with an internet connection, asics facilities can be installed at the premises, so making use of gas that otherwise would be burned.

Likewise here asics have been sent to the volcano power source pictured above, so tapping into what may be cheaper energy and thus more competitive mining.
