Malaysian fintech company MoneyMatch that runs its cross-border remittance services on RippleNet blockchain technology has announced that it would be granting people from around the globe free fund transfer service to India.
MoneyMatch did this in partnership with Ripple blockchain technology, with the aim of supporting people during this pandemic period.
the cross-border remittance platform said it is making fund transfer to India easy and costless with the use of promo code. This way, the two fintech companies, plans to support the community in the best mean they can during this period.
MoneyMatch said users would be granted the coupon code, SENDINR, for free transactions based on first come first serve basis, and the free service would end by June 30, 2002.
The Global Head of Strategic Accounts at Ripple, Marcus Treacher, addressed the collaboration as a great effort geared towards assisting people to send money back home during the pandemic. This marks one of the times Ripple has been extending supports to the world at this dire economic time.
Earlier, Ripple announced that it was donating $200,000 to fight against the deadly novel virus COVID-19. The blockchain enterprise donated the money to nonprofit organizations like Tipping Community and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
In a seperate development, XendPay declared it collaborated with Ripple to offer UK workers costless transaction service during this period to ease the pressure on people. Users who use Xendpay platform would execute transactions for free between 3rd April and 3rd June 2020.
Ripple Speaks Against Killing of Black In US, Supports Solidarity Fight to Save Black Lives
The brutalization of black Americans by Police which led to the killing of 46-year-old resident of Minnesota, has spurred protests from thousands of people within the United States and beyond.
Ripple, among a number of companies around the world, joined the campaign against indiscriminate killing of blacks in racial acts.
Ripple, via its CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, said it stands in support of the black community and will support the fight against racism. Brad said he would continue to support the course which fights for saving black lives.
Ripple Meets with Brazil’s Central Bank
Ripple’s remittance products and technology may be on its way to gaining strong foothold in Brazil after an announcement that Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of the Silicon Valley-based company, met and had a close door meeting with officials of the country’s central bank.
Brad and some other representative of the blockchain firm had a virtual video conference with the current president of the central bank of Brazil, Roberto Campos Neto on May 30. The conference lasted for 1 hours between the hours of 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and was staged to address institutional matters, the Agenda of Authorities of Banco Central do Brasil stated.
