The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange announced a partnership with the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The AFA is an Argentine national sports organization established in Buenos Aires. It is the only legal representation of men’s and women’s football in Argentina.

According to Binance’s official site, the crypto exchange will be the new Global Main Sponsor of Argentina’s National Teams. Argentina is a two-time world champion and home to Lionel Messi. He is maybe the greatest player in soccer. Furthermore, Argentina is one of the most passionate fan bases on the planet. The company will also serve as the Professional Soccer League’s Naming Sponsor for a five-year period under the terms of the agreement.

President of AFA, Claudio Tapia said: “This partnership meets every criteria we’re searching for.” A global leader in its field, innovative, and committed to the creation of new digital assets. The arrival of Binance as an AFA business partner has made us incredibly excited. A fantastic collaboration that will provide excellent results for all sides.”

“Football and cryptocurrency are life in Argentina. Thus it makes sense for Binance to cooperate with the Argentine Football Association,” said Maximiliano Hinz. He is the Director of Binance Latin America. “With this partnership, we want to promote Argentine soccer at all levels. Also, we want to introduce Binance, the crypto world, and blockchain to soccer fans all throughout the country and the world,” he said.

More details about the Partnership

According to the source, the partnership also includes the creation of an Argentina fan token. It will be launched on the market soon. In addition, the union will benefit from Binance’s collaboration as it prepares to enter the NFT market.

“Fan tokens will have a variety of new features, allowing the general public to interact with the selection on a much deeper level. “We are waiting for its launching,” Hinz added.

The deal includes naming rights to Argentina’s top-flight Primera Division and designation as the AFA’s official fan token. However, this deal has caused a conflict with rival blockchain firm Chiliz. Last year, the AFA and Chiliz agreed to name the Primera Division ‘Torneo Socios.com’ for the 2021/22 season, which included the launch of a fan token on the Socios network.

Chiliz has said that it will take legal action against the AFA for a “flagrant violation of contract” following the announcement of the AFA’s deal with Binance.

This is Binance’s first global partnership with a national soccer organization.
