China’s Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) has continued to expand its horizon despite the country’s strict regulation. The blockchain project has announced the expansion of its portals to Turkey and Uzbekistan.

China’s BSN Expanding to Turkey and Uzbekistan

According to a press release on September 11, the blockchain project, BSN supported by the Chinese government, is launching two new portals in Turkey and Uzbekistan. The company behind the BSN project, Red Date Technology officially signed an agreement with Turkish consulting firm Turkey-China Business Matching Center (TUCEM) to start operation of the two international BSN portals in Turkey and Uzbekistan at the end of December 2021.

Blockchain Developers in Turkey and Uzbekistan will be able to leverage the new portal to build BaaS applications that support major blockchains such as the Ethereum network, Algorand, Polkadot, Tezos, ConsenSys Quorum, and Corda.

Expanding the blockchain sphere in Turkey and Uzbekistan

BSN is a blockchain-as-a-service platform that can be accessed via cloud nodes at home and abroad. It aims to make the development of decentralized applications inexpensive and easily accessible and thereby become the de facto infrastructure of the new blockchain Internet. TUCEM which was founded in 2006 has become the most important centre of economic cooperation between Turkey and China. The company will offer its Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) in Turkey and Uzbekistan.

The plan aims to solve major blockchain application development challenges, achieve blockchain interoperability, and reduce development costs. Yifan, CEO of Jujube Technology stated that it is appropriate to launch the first BSN portal outside of Asia since Turkey has long been the bridge between Asia and Europe.

Mehmet Akfırat, President of TUCEM and Head of BSN Turkey, stated that BSN’s Turkish portal will contribute to social development and financial inclusion. He also noted that both Turkey and Uzbekistan are heavily involved in blockchain development.

The President of TUCEM further stated in an interview that as long as there are good local partners in certain regions, the organization was opened to establishing new international portals.  He added that BSN is also negotiating with potential partners from the US, Europe and Australia.

Akfırat also pointed out that BSN are all built and operated by our local partners and some portals use BSN infrastructure to build the best performing BaaS sites at very little cost. According to him, BSN will no longer be involved in CBDC-related projects and has also abandoned its stablecoin plan. In January 2021, BSN announced plans to set up a universal digital payment network for Central Bank digital currencies (CBDC).

On September 1st, BSN launched a Hong Kong and Macau accounts website, which is helping to develop more than 30 new blockchain projects. Finally, BSN plans to set up an international BSN portal in South Korea in November.
