Lightning Network: Charlie Lee loses to Roger Ver

More than 18 months ago on Blockchain Cruise, in a very friendly way, the Bitcoin Cash Roger Ver paladin and Litecoin founder Charlie Lee made a bet about the incidence of using Lighting Network and what would be the most used form of payment in stores, whether LN or BCH.

The bet, precisely, was that according to Charlie Lee at the end of 2019 Lightning Network would be supported by more than 1000 stores, which is not the case today.

This is the video published yesterday on the YouTube channel of Bitcoin Cash that explains the bet and all the data to prove that the victory is of BCH.

At that time, in September 2018, the debate between the two concerned some salient points including the reliability of Lightning Network and the number of stores that accepted this payment method.

Well, some time after the bet we see that, in light of what we can also learn from various graphics, less than 400 stores accept LNs and many are not physical stores but online services and often only gambling.

In addition, certainly does not play knowing that there are more Bitcoins in Ethereum than on LN, since DeFi is allowing – through different projects – to make crosschain tokens, such as pToken and WBTC.

In the meantime, instead, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is accepted in almost all the world with over 4300 physical stores, leaving aside all those online: this is almost 1000% more than what has been done so far by LN.

Now we just have to wait for the video of Charlie Lee wearing the Bitcoin Cash t-shirt in which he promotes this blockchain and see if he will keep his word 18 months ago since he lost the bet with Roger Ver.
