Ethereum Co-Founder, Vitalik Buterin talked about the potential of interoperability between Doge and Ethereum during a conversation with MIT AI Researcher Lex Fridman.

“I definitely do not fear the Doge!”

Appearing on episode #188 of the “Lex Fridman Podcast” on June 4, the Co-Founder of Ethereum blockchain, Vitalik Buterin addressed Elon Musk’s ‘he fears the doge’ comment on him, including the potential future of interoperability between Dogecoin and Ethereum.

Fridman started his interview by reminding that on May 15, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that Dogecoin could beat Bitcoin if the altcoin speeds up to 10X faster block production time, increases 10X block size, and drops fees 100X.

Ideally, Doge speeds up block time 10X, increases block size 10X & drops fee 100X. Then it wins hands down.

Responding to this, on May 23, Buterin published a blog post that contradicted Elon Musk’s ideas, saying it could result in “extreme centralization” and “compromising the fundamental properties that make a blockchain what it is”, to which the Tesla CEO tweeted back saying:

In the podcast interview, Fridman enquired whether Buterin was indeed afraid of Dogecoin as Musk had alleged, where Buterin replies:

“I definitely feel obligated to correct the record. I definitely do not fear the Doge! I love the Doge. I actually visited the Doge in Japan a few years back. She’s an amazing dog that’s still alive”

He went further ahead to add that if Doge could be added to the Ethereum bridge that would be amazing:

“I think if we can have a Doge to Ethereum bridge, then that would be amazing and then when Ethereum gets its scalability any scalability thing that works Ethereum assets, you would be able to also look trade wrapped Doge with extremely low transaction fees and very high speed as well.”

Cardano Founder Has Come a Long Way: Vitalik Buterin

Cardano is considered to be an Ethereum killer and has surged in popularity over the last few months.

Speaking on Cardano’s founder Charles Hoskinson, Vitalik Buterin says he has come a long way since their split:

“Charles has clearly progressed and matured in a lot of ways. 2021 Charles is very different from 2014 Charles, and I’m sure 2021 Vitalk is very different to 2014 Vitalik.”

Buterin launched Ethereum with eight developers where Hoskinson was one of them. Unfortunately, Hoskinson went on his own way after a disagreement with Buterin over differing philosophies on Ethereum.
