A top provider of cryptocurrency solutions and enterprise blockchain, Ripple, has welcomed two new persons to its leadership team. The company announced that it has appointed Kristina Campbell as its Chief Financial Officer and Gumataotao Rios, US 43rd treasurer, as a member of its board of directors. Rio served under President Barack Obama’s administration from 2009 to 2016.
Rio brings 30 years of experience to Ripple
Rios has three decades of unmatched expertise and experience in investment management and public policy Ripple. Most of her career has been on real estate finance, urban revitalization, and economic development.

During her time as U.S. Treasurer, she supervised all currency production activities. The Treasury at the time had an annual budget of $5 billion and almost 4,000 employees under her directives. She also started the process of placing a portrait of a woman in U.S. currency. Her role within the U.S. treasury earned her the Hamilton Award, the highest honor in the U.S. Treasury.
The other appointment, Kristina Campbell, was previously with fintech company GeenDot. Ripple says she will be joining the company to “accelerate growth and deliver value to shareholders.”
Rio is bringing experience in the public and private sector
Chief Executive Officer of Ripple Brad Garlinghouse mentioned Rio’s experience in the private and public sectors, adding that her enormous experience will add a lot to the further growth of the company.
Rios, on the other hand, explained why she chose Ripple as the world experiences revolution in digital payment and financial solutions
She said the company is showing examples of how cryptocurrency is performing a legitimate and vital role in facilitating payments globally.
While Rios’s experience is mainly around fiat currency, Ripple believes she will be playing a substantial towards the company’s expansion goals within the cryptocurrency market.
Rios’s appointment is coming shortly after the Chief Executive Officer of SBI Ripple Asia, Adam Traidman, was appointed to replace Yoshitaka Kitao Chief Executive Officer of parent company SBI Group.
