Hedera Hashgraph, an enterprise blockchain platform, has recently presented a proof-of-concept to the Texas Secretary of State. The firm is aiming to show the potential of blockchain technology, which can be used to issue, verify, and secure the documents. This proof-of-concept (PoC) has been made through a collaboration announced by Texas Blockchain Council on January 11, 2020.

The collaboration is between Hedera Hashgraph and Hyland, a content service provider, headed by the Texas Blockchain Council. The main purpose of presenting this PoC is to issue electronic Apostilles, which are used for verifying documents seals and signatures. This ensures the authenticity of seals and signatures on the documents.

Texas Secretary of State Not Revealed Anything About Hedera Hashgraph

In around 118 countries, Apostilled documents are recognized as legally valid. All these 118 countries are the parties of the Apostille Convention. Even though Hedera Hashgraph has presented the PoC, the Texas Secretary of State has not revealed any particular details about it.

The Texas Blockchain Council is not an old organization as it was created in 2020 only, with the main purpose of building a blockchain-friendly jurisdiction. The Council is focusing on promoting the use of blockchain within the local companies.

Established Strong Presence in State

Mance Harmon, CEO of Hedera Hashgraph, has said that the firm has established a really strong presence in the state. He further said:

“We’re thrilled to show the Texas Secretary of State and Hyland how blockchain/public ledgers enable government agencies to cost-effectively deliver next-generation services to their constituents.”

It is believed that this collaboration between Hedera and Hyland is going to be a highly productive one. Both the firms will give their best to this project of developing e-Apostilles and will expand the blockchain sector further.
