Second Just (JST) airdrop was a success

The second airdrop of the Just (JST) token on the TRON (TRX) blockchain has just ended.

Before delving into the details of the last airdrop, it should be remembered that a new stablecoin called USDJ has just been introduced on Justin Sun’s blockchain. It features a creation system similar to what happens with Maker when generating DAI: so, in practice, TRX is used as collateral to generate USDJ.

Obviously, a decentralized system also requires user-controlled governance and this is made possible by the JST governance token.

As it is happening for the COMP token on Compound, which is distributed to all those who interface with this platform (something that made its price skyrocket), the TRON Foundation has also decided to make an airdrop.

In fact, whoever owns at least 100 TRX will get JST.

The snapshot took place at block number 20,781,769, involving 101,484,215,321.51247 TRX in the airdrop.

The airdrop is expected to continue for several years until October 20th, 2022: in fact, every 20th of the month thousands of tokens will be distributed.

For this year, from June 20th, 2020 to May 20th, 2021 the number of tokens to be distributed as airdrop will be 237,600,000 JST.

The latest news from TRON

The TRON blockchain has already introduced us to this kind of airdrop initiatives: last year there was the BitTorrent BTT token airdrop, which was supposed to distribute the tokens to TRX owners.

This BTT airdrop was supposed to be completed in 2029 but was abruptly discontinued a few days ago.

We are now 2 weeks away from the launch of TRON 4.0, which will bring new features such as privacy-oriented transactions.
