Australia-based Verida Health is depending on VeChainThor for its decentralized health care solution where individuals have ownership and control over their personal health data.

Verida Health says it makes use of VeChain technology in the health sector, this time that there is an increasing demand for verifiable health data and telehealth technology, to make patients the owner and sharer of their data.

COVID-19 has increased the necessity for a decentralized health care data system as the inefficiency of records taking through the existing archaic means becomes clearer to people.

Verida, which depends on VeChainThor, is an open-source platform offering decentralized health care solutions for the benefit of healthcare workers and patients.

The platform offers a decentralised Electronic Medical Record (EMR) where medical personnel can manage the records of their patients easily. These records are encrypted with blockchain keys, allowing patients be in control of their records, revoke, or share access with doctors.

As well, the Verida Health has a section branded COVID19 Verifiable Credentials, where citizens can keep their health records. Patients can store their verifiable records on the Verida Health for employers or any other third party to access.

The Verida Health team is made up of CEO Chris Were, David Inderias, who is the Head of Strategy & Partnerships and Chelsey Quartermain, the Head of Operations.

Although the idea is still nascent, Verida Health innovation is a much-needed idea in the health sector.

At the moment, Verida Health says it is creating a turn-key decentralized health platform that focuses on COVID-19 by offering decentralized location tracking, contact tracing, verifiable credentials consensual data sharing.

The platform will make use of a decentralized ID (DID) to save information in individual devices using a digital identity wallet.

VeChainThor In the Health Sector

The need for revolution in the way data is being managed within the health care sector has resulted in some firms opting for VeChain’s Toolchain which allows them manage data well without comprising patients’ data or having access to their data without their consent.

Recently, VeChain partnered with I-Dante to create health solutions for the Mediterranean Hospital in Cyprus.

The Mediterranean Hospital is to make use of a blockchain-based medical data management platform named The E-NewHealthLife.

VeChain’s solutions are being adopted across diverse sectors. The blockchain platform is working with many multinationals and national companies like Walmart China, BMW, Shanghai Gas Group, Chinese insurer PICC and lots of others.

VeChain solution is also in use in the agricultural sector to solve traceability issues. In the food industry, the blockchain solutions offered by VeChain are hotcakes.

Recently NewsLogical reported that Sam’s Club, a section of Walmart China, is using VeChain’s toolchain to preserve exclusive goods offered to its premium-members only customers.
