Walmart China has brought in a membership-shopping-only chain with 3.8 million members into the VeChain ecosystem.

Sam’s Club, a shopping chain with 26 big outlets in China, will make use of Walmart China Blockchain Traceability Platform jointly created by VeChain, PwC China, and Walmart.

Almost a year after the establishment of the traceability solution, the Walmart China Group brought in Sam’s Club, one of its top firms, into the blockchain traceability platform. The variant of the traceability platform by Walmart has been branded Sam’s Club Blockchain Traceability Platform.

In China, Sam’s Club has graduated into a chain of membership-only and exclusive shopping club. It operates in 26 outlets across the country and planning to have 40 to 45 clubs by 2022.

Each of Sam’s Club’s outlets have an average of 200,000 square meters and has over 3.8 million members in China.

As contained on its website, Sam’s Club offers 4,000 high quality-to-price ratio items that are not limited to apparel, home, household appliances, groceries, and fresh.

The introduction of Sam’s Club Blockchain Traceability Platform comes as a coincidence with the platform’s “Taste of Sam’s” campaign that is centered on encouraging their members to consume premium quality food products, says CREAMethod, one of VeChain’s strategic partners.

About the Adoption of VeChain ToolChain

The adoption of VeChain ToolChain and cold-chain IoT and some other hardware and software sensors will make those involved in the supply chain process to upload manufacturing and logistic data onto the VeChainThor public blockchain.

The purpose of this is to make sure the records are not alterable. Products with the traceability solution are to be secured with QR code, allowing customers to see the history of the products using smartphones. This guarantees safety and makes customers to be rest assured that the products they are buying are original, trusted, and safe.

VeChain’s ToolChain is a force to reckon with in the world of traceability. The innovation is being used by different firms, one of them is the traceability idea spearheaded by Walmart China and PwC.

Recently, Bayer China’s launched CSecure Clinical Trial Traceability Platform using VeChain’s ToolChain. Also, the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus partnered with VeChain to launch COVID-19 E-HCert. VeChain and I-Dante also launched a blockchain-enabled medical data management platform named the E-NewHealthLife.

PwC and DNV GL are making use of the VeChain’s ToolChain for distinct cases. DNV GL’s MyStory has VeChainThor has its underlining technology, and the product serves H&M Group.

VeChain’s ToolChain Used in Tracing Agriculture Products

VeChain is helping Producers Market to trace agricultural products using the VeChain ToolChain in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) agricultural farmers.

Producers Market, a platform helping vulnerable farmers secure their products for exporting, selected the VeChain’s ToolChain to serve as a link between consumers and manufacturers.

The traceability solution named StoryBird, will help trace farm products from soil till they get to the last consumer. The storyBird app is used to gather product information on the VeChainThor Blockchain to ensure a transparent, trusted digital marketplace for agricultural products.
