Reddit has launch Ethereum tokens for its Subreddits using Ethereum, however, former Ripple Chief Marketing Strategist, journalist Cory Johnson, is not satisfied with the move.

Two subreddits, having more than 2.4 million in total, launched their separate digital tokens for dealing on the micro-blogging platform.

The subreddits, namely r/Cryptocurrency and r/FortNiteBR, showcased their digital tokens dubbed MOON and BRICK respectively purposely to serve as a means of offering community points.

Several subreddits are also willing to launch their personal tokens that are to be saved in the Reddit Vault, available on both Reddit’s iOS and Android. Users can move their ERC-20 tokens out of Reddit into a desirable and compatible wallet.

Meanwhile, Cory Johnson, who saw the tokenization agenda as a great opportunity, wished the social platform used Ripple’s native token XRP instead of Ethereum.

Since Cory did not give his reasons, the cryptocurrency community was agape. This does not mean Ethereum’s delayed transaction glitches and some smart contract issues have vanished.

While Cory’s statement could be based on several things, Ethereum is a widely used blockchain technology adopted by big firms including Google and some respected banks across the world.

I also wish #Reddit had used #XRP for this project, not #ETH. https://t.co/6aXcUZTiHp

Cory was a vibrant Ripple official until early 2019 when he left the San Francisco firm. The reasons for the exit were not at first publicized, but Ripple spokesperson said Cory was relinquished of the role because the position was not necessary again owing to the evolving market structures and conditions.
