Remember a few months back when Elon Musk got a Shiba Inu and named the cute pup Floki? Welp, someone in London’s been aggressively promoting a cryptocurrency named after the Tesla CEO’s famous doggo.

The new meme token that is Floki Inu

Dubbed as Floki Inu (FLOKI), the new digital token is a part of a promotional campaign as this can be observed throughout the United Kingdom’s transport system. This is albeit the fact that lawmakers there are pretty much not into cryptocurrency-related advertisements.

Ads about this Floki Inu crypto have hit London’s buses, trains, and even the Underground stations as the tagline “Missed Doge? Get Floki” can be read on these mentioned modes of public transport. Moreover, it was learned that these ads about the crypto are being funded by a four percent marketing fee on buyers.

At the time of writing the coin was trading at $0.0001683 with a 24-hour volume of $15,90,77,272 USD. FLOKI was up 177.86% in the last 24 hours with a 24-volume of $164,673,679.

‘Small fee’

It was noted over on Floki Inu’s whitepaper stating that each trade will have a “small fee” to be deducted to pay for marketing ventures. Further, it was also stated that these so-called ventures would allow the crypto to “reach out to worthwhile technology” including its marketing partners for Floki’s ecosystem to grow and progress further.

The head of marketing for Floki who only goes by the moniker “Saber” stated that the goal of their ad push is to make the coin legitimate and for would-be buyers to have confidence in what they’re investing in. In line with this, this Saber fellow pointed out the plethora of scam artists in this field that are just waiting for their potential prey.

Is Musk behind it?

One might ask if Musk has something to do with the said branding campaign. Reports may well seem to suggest that there are no signs of his involvement with this Floki Inu project. When asked who’s behind it, the folks over at Floki Inu declined to make a statement.

However, it was learned that the Floki Inu is the sole project that has officially teamed up with the Million Gardens Movement. For the uninitiated, it is a collective that is working with a non-profit being run by Elon’s younger bro – Kimbal Musk.

FLOKI went live on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain and is said to also run on Binance’s Smart Chain. At the time of writing, Floki Inu sits at $0.000141 with a market cap of $1,320,772,857.
