NEO

Neo co-founders, Da Hongfei and Erik Zhang, participated in an AMA on the Neo subreddit where the duo fielded questions from the Neo community. Topics of conversation included in-person events, governance and the Neo Council, listing N3 NEO and GAS on new exchanges, marketing initiatives, bringing stablecoins to the Neo platform, the Neoverse NFT initiative, plans to attract more developers, transaction throughput on layer one, collaborating with a global developer community, and much more.

Neo Global Development announced TranslateMe as the third project accepted into the N3 Early Adoption Program, intended to incentivize the development of new dApps on the Neo N3 blockchain. The TranslateMe team intends to explore new features of the N3 blockchain following its migration from Legacy. Examples include storing network data, minting TMN tokens for contributors as their translation data is validated, and using Neo’s oracle network to bridge off-chain data with the TranslateMe Network pipeline. NGD will offer funding and technical support opportunities to foster TranslateMe’s growth.

NGD announced Rentfuse as the fourth project accepted into the N3 Early Adoption Program. Rentfuse is an NFT renting protocol that won Best NFT Project in the recent Neo Frontier Launchpad hackathon.  As part of the program, Rentfuse will receive funding, technical support, and other incubation opportunities from NGD. Looking forward, the team aims to launch Rentfuse in Q1 2022 but will release a more detailed roadmap soon. Additionally, NGD plans to explore more NFT use cases alongside the Rentfuse team and help them collaborate with other Neo ecosystem projects.

Humswap co-founders, Mario Lopez and Jason Tezanos, joined the Neo Live AMA hosted by NGD to discuss the utilities of the platform’s two upcoming NFT contracts, collaborating with Neo ecosystem projects, its multi-year roadmap, plus more. The Humswap team planned to distribute ten Pixel Bowl NFTs to participants from the AMA event.

The bonus NEO incentives for the Mass Migration from Legacy to N3 decreased from 0.75% to 0.5%. To earn a bonus of 1 NEO, users will need to migrate 200 NEO to N3. The bonus rewards will conclude on Oct. 31, 2021.

NNT Catch Up

Neo News Today distributed its first grant to Robert Oschler, a natural language processing developer based in Idaho, USA. Oschler was introduced to the Neo ecosystem during the Neo Frontier Launchpad event. As part of the grant, Oschler will migrate his Ethereum Band Battles application to Neo, documenting his journey and explaining the process throughout a series of videos to be posted on a YouTube channel. Oschler’s first video is available on YouTube, where he introduces the dApp that he will begin porting to Neo N3 in subsequent episodes.

Developer Groups

COZ updated the Dora blockchain explorer to v0.0.5, which primarily included updates on the N3 side of the explorer. The new release improved general usability and corrected a number of defects, including scripts not being correctly shown on N3 contracts and a display bug with floating point numbers. Among the new features is the addition of a list of included transactions to N3 block pages, the use of seconds instead of milliseconds for block times, and additional fields in the metadata section of each smart contract page.
