On Monday, the TikTok sharing feature went live for all Audius users. The deal with TikTok is a huge step towards an influx of new music artists and their popularity growth.

Video-sharing social networking platform TikTok has partnered with decentralized music-sharing and streaming platform Audius to launch TikTok Sounds – a new feature that will enhance artists’ experience. In particular, with a new service, artists who post their songs to Audius can easily transfer them to TikTok within one click. According to the report from Rolling Stone, they will also be able to include their videos. As a result, it will potentially expose them to a larger audience.

TikTok Sounds is a new feature of TikTok’s Sound Kit. It was first announced back in May this year. The Sound Kit allows creators and artists to seamlessly bring original sounds and music from third-party apps into the TikTok ecosystem. As TikTok explained, audio is integral to its users’ experience and offers endless possibilities for collaboration and inspiration among the community. Sound Kit helps creators reach new fans on TikTok and make their original sounds even more shareable.

In July, TikTok reported that 75% of its US users discovered new artists thanks to its app. Now, as a result of its partnership with Audius, TikTok users will be able to get to know even more musicians.

Audius founder Forrest Browning stated:

“We’re proud to be one of the earliest launch partners for TikTok Sounds and to give the artists on Audius a chance to increase their exposure even more.”

Notably, Audius is striving to implement blockchain technology in its functioning. As Browning has said, most of its users have no idea that “blockchain is even involved”. However, its partnership with TikTok has nothing to do with the blockchain ambitions Audius has.

About Audius

Audius is a decentralized music-sharing and streaming protocol. It facilitates direct transactions between listeners and creators, giving everyone the freedom to distribute, monetize, and stream any audio content. Notably, Audius utilizes Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) blockchains. Launched in 2019, the platform boasts over 100,000 musicians. Among them are even major EDM exposure musicians including Skrillex, Weezer, deadmau5, Diplo, and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.

In addition, in July, Audius reported having more than 5.3 million unique users. It witnesses a rapid increase from 2.9 million unique users in January.

The deal with TikTok is a huge step towards an influx of new music artists and their popularity growth.

Guy Lawrence from EDM’s Disclosure commented:

“A very big step forward with this new feature. Having the ability to share my uploads straight from Audius to TikTok is a real-time saver.”

On Monday, the TikTok sharing feature went live for all Audius users.
