According to the announcement, the domain system, called the Zilliqa Naming Service (ZNS), is being developed by Unstoppable Domains and is currently available for testing on the Zilliqa testnet.

The Unstoppable Domains team highlighted a few use cases in the announcement, including the ability to replace cryptocurrency addresses with human-readable names and the ability to enable censorship resistant websites, a very timely functionality. The full mainnet launch of the service is currently slated for June.

As previously covered, Zilliqa conducted its mainnet launch at the end of January — roughly a year after the project’s token generating event. In that time, the project has pushed through more than 7,000 GitHub commits, according to the team.

ZIL is currently up 2.7% on the day to $0.018776, giving the altcoin a $162.4 million market cap.
