ViaBTC plans to reopen outside China

24 September 2017 21:00, UTC

ViaBTC, the Chinese company, plans to open a new cryptocurrency exchange outside the country, SCMP reports.

ViaBTC had a cryptocurrency exchange in China, but amidst the recent regulations issued by the country’s central bank, has decided to cease all related operations. The head of the company, however, notes that a third of ViaBTC clients are outside the borders of China. This provides an opportunity to create another eponymous exchange in some other state (deadline unspecified).

However, older reports suggest that the leaders of Chinese cryptocurrency exchanges were ordered to stay in the country by the local authorities. If this is true, the ViaBTC management is going to have to use proxies previously not connected with the digital currency exchange that is about to be closed.

South Korea and Japan can become possible locations for ViaBTC reopening. Many Chinese altcoin organizations have already moved there, however, other states in Southeast Asia are not to be excluded.
