The biggest application for securities trade in South Korea, Kakao Stock, is now supporting trading via Bitcoin and Ethereum. This is reported by Bitcoin.com (citing Dunamu, Inc).

This application provides real-time prices and gives an opportunity to trade with stocks. The users operate with local and foreign stock exchanges and securities trade corporations through this app without very big fees one might expect.

Dunamu, Inc. created this instrument in 2014 and since then the daily amount of active users has grown to 310,000. More than one trillion won (or $1.1 billion) is circulated through Kakao Stock. The application was downloaded more than one million times.

Kakao Stock shares the user base with the eponymous messenger. This Kakao Talk messenger is very popular in South Korea, almost 95% of mobile devices of the country have it installed. Naturally, Kakao Stock didn’t have any problems with attracting more users since the launch day.

This news corresponds with the overall trend of cryptocurrency rush in South Korea. This country has many influential cryptocurrency stock exchanges and its government works towards further liberalization of this market.
