Jimmy Wales: crypto world in a bubble, lacks real journalism

29 May 2018 21:00, UTC

Jimmy Wales has shown little to no optimism when speaking at the recent blockchain summit in Germany. As the co-founder of Wikipedia believes, the market is currently in the bubble, and the community should prepare for the big crash and the shock that follows thereafter.

Additionally, Jimmy Wales has little respect towards the cryptocurrency-related press, stating there was no journalism in the sphere. This is understandable considering what Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin told about CoinDesk after their massive mistake with OmiseGo: in addition to that failure, journalists have been seen using the errors made during the interview to attract attention while they were explicitly told not to do so. Due to the fact that Jimmy Wales has mentioned this in connection with the market crash, one can assume the current press articles often lack constructive criticism.

As he noted in another recent interview, Brexit must not make London a less attractive place for tech enthusiasts and business persons than Berlin - and this is almost exactly what one of the British officials stated in connection with the same issue. Wales has already voiced his concerns about the actual trustworthiness of ICOs.
