Deutsche Boerse exec: we are deep at work with crypto

23 May 2018 21:00, UTC

The high-ranking manager of Deutsche Boerse has directly confirmed the plans of this major financial establishment to connect its future business activities with the market of cryptocurrency. This has been stated at the recent summit held by the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME).

Core markets head Jeffrey Tessler has noted that his organization wanted to fully understand the technology behind “anything like Bitcoin” which is not an easy task. He has also illustrated the progress of their work by telling that CME Group was ahead of them.

The New York Stock Exchange is also rumored to be working on the crypto market opportunities assessment, which is not surprising considering what the representative of the NYSE parent company told to journalists last month.

One cannot state, however, that both organizations plan to trade Bitcoin directly, while the probability of new Bitcoin futures is palpable. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board Options Exchange were the pioneers in this regard, they have successfully tested two independent variations of this mechanism and no huge financial scandals arose since then. The safety of Bitcoin futures is further illustrated by the fact that the Russian government has allowed FINAM to use CME and CBOE Bitcoin futures even before any crypto laws were implemented in the country.
