British Castle Craig Hospital starts to view crypto addiction as actual health threat

24 June 2018 21:00, UTC

Permanently checking the exchange rate of digital currencies can actually lead to dangerous consequences for the psychological health, note the medics at the Castle Craig Hospital. The news have not been refuted by the organization since initial messages appeared in the media. Additionally, this is confirmed on the official website of the hospital.

The new phenomenon largely resembles gambling addiction, hospital employees explain. They have even provided a set of questions one should answer to check for cryptocurrency addiction. While some questions (e.g. “Do I spend a lot of time thinking about different types of cryptocurrency?”) are applicable to all who follow the news on the topic, other ones (e.g. “Have I ever taken money unlawfully to fund my cryptocurrency addiction?”) are much more serious and in case the answer is “yes”, then the daily priorities must be reconsidered. Pathological addiction can be self-diagnosed in case five or more questions are answered positively.

Experts on psychology warn that a prolonged addiction could even potentially destroy the family of the trader, not to mention the basic financial budget. The same often happens with gamblers.
