Korean NFT artist DeeKay Kwon shared today that his wallet was stolen and all his life savings were lost.
DeeKay posted on X, “I have just become a victim of cybercrime. All my wallets have been stolen, my life savings, and everything I have earned as a Web3 artist has vanished. This happened during a 14-hour flight from South Korea to New York.”

Due to his travel journey, Kwon couldn’t access the Internet during the flight. Kwon has guessed that the money was stolen after his mnemonic phrase was leaked. Kwon, however, found out that only his funds were taken away, and all his NFTs remain unaffected. Kwon has begun to move his NFTs to a new secure wallet.
DeeKay said, “I have nothing now, and this may be the biggest challenge of my life. What I am most worried about is my family, who are all financially dependent on me.” Reading this post, several X users began tagging ZachXBT, and asked the popular crypto sleuth for helping Kwon.
This is the second time DeeKay has fallen prey to an attack. Previously on July 15, 2022, the X account of Kwon was attacked and his NFTs worth more than $150,000 were stolen. The hacker also posted a link to a phishing website, inducing users to approve a malicious transaction in order to obtain an exclusive NFT. Using this method, the hacker managed to steal NFTs worth about $150,000 from multiple victims.
