Joseph Robinette Biden, the Former Vice President of the United States of America, has commented on his Bitcoin holdings. Biden made it public that he does not have Bitcoin and would not ask anybody to send any to him.
His actions were prompted by the recent Twitter hack, as con artists claimed they’ll return Bitcoin stolen to Biden’s Twitter account. But unfortunately, he isn’t in possession of any Bitcoin.
Anybody who intends chipping in Bitcoin to help make Donald Trump a one-term President, such can go ahead said, Biden who requested donations for his presidential course.
Last week Wednesday, the Twitter accounts of about 130 high-profile individuals were hacked. These included accounts of Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Joe Biden and a host of other crypto bigwigs.
On the afternoon of the said day, Twitter discovered that some of its handlers were not able to gain access to their account; hence, it immediately swung into fixing the issue. This was because the attack to some extent shut down the network.
The swindlers who gained access to the above-mentioned individuals’ Twitter accounts sent messages across requesting Bitcoin payments from people for an unavailable multiple in return.
On Thursday, Biden said in a Tweet that Twitter accounts of important people, had been accessed by the third parties, a day before. Former President of the United States, Barack Obama, and the official Apple accounts were as well hacked.
However, the fraudsters’ aim of indulging in this act, was to promote an untrue Bitcoin-related enterprise, which ended up attracting gullible users to transfer Bitcoin to the addresses controlled by the con artists.
Hereafter, about 120, 000 USD Bitcoin, was sent to the scam address, before Twitter’s intervention to regain back the accounts.
Prior to this recent activity, last year, Twitter accounts of many influential individuals were also hijacked, including that of Jack Dorsey, Twitter Chief Executive.
In a tweet to clarify himself, Biden added a link to the campaign’s donation page. To prove this fact, the campaign only receives donations in US Dollars, thus, bringing to disappointment, whichever Bitcoin-donating contenders.
Meanwhile in the past, other high profiled Twitter handlers who are not in the cryptosphere have revealed the amount of Bitcoin they possess.
Elon Musk, founder, CTO, and CEO and chief designer of SpaceX and other notable companies, who also fell victim of the last Wednesday’s hack, at the beginning of the year, showed the magnitude of his modest holding, which was about 2, 500 USD.
Not so long, Shark Tank star and tech entrepreneur, Mark Cuban, in a podcast, disclosed that he has about ~$130 in his proprietorship.
Other Democratic aspirants, such as Andrew Yang had had one thing or more to say about cryptocurrencies. In 2018, Andrew revealed that he thought blockchain technology was valuable. He further said that his campaign accepted Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other digital coins.
In the preceding year, US President, Donald Trump, tweeted about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He pointed at their probability to expedite illegal conduct. Thus, he called out Facebook’s Libra in a bid to outwit US banking rules.
Trump went further to tweet that he is not an enthusiast of Bitcoin and other digital coins, which are not money and whose worths are vastly unpredictable and founded out of nowhere.
