The Sandbox Collaborates with BlockchainSpace, a Metaverse Platform

A recent collaboration with The Sandbox is part of a joint effort, according to a press statement, in which BlockchainSpace, a metaverse platform intends to link many guilds and players to the virtual environment.

Collaboration Between The Sandbox and BlockchainSpace

BlockchainSpace advertises itself as the “guild center of the metaverse” for the uninitiated. It supplies the necessary infrastructure and technology. The metaverse platform’s creators will provide access to The Sandbox’s developing virtual environment to its 2,600 guilds and 680,000 gamers via the agreement. According to the statement, BlockchainSpace’s guild architecture allows interaction monitoring and links participants globally through its network.

This is not the first time the two organizations have worked together. Indeed, The Sandbox and BlockchainSpace previously partnered to promote the Philippine community, including the introduction of voxel non-fungible token (NFT) art competitions.

While the press announcement said that the renewed cooperation would focus on bringing more guilds and players into The Sandbox environment, it added, “Additionally, it serves as a great demonstration of BlockhainSpace’s guild infrastructure and network and its ability to scale to projects on The Sandbox level. Scaling communities for NFT games is critical for establishing and growing the metaverse’s appeal.”

Fundraising Sponsored By SoftBank 

The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based unicorn Animoca Brands, received $93 million in November in a fundraising round sponsored by SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2. Additional investors included Animoca Brands, Samsung Next, True Global Ventures, Polygon Studios, and Liberty City Ventures.

This year, the Sandbox witnessed tremendous adoption, owing to the NFT boom and following capital input into the sector, which aided the platform’s development trajectory. Consequently, it was able to secure high-profile agreements with celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, CryptoKitties, The Smurfs, and Care Bears.
