Samsung Bans Generative AI Tools Over Security Concerns

Samsung Electronics has banned the use of generative AI tools on its internal networks and Samsung-owned devices. The move comes after a report of sensitive code being uploaded to a platform. An internal memo highlighted concerns over security risks associated with AI platforms, including the potential for data to be stored on external servers beyond the company's control. Samsung is reviewing security measures to ensure the secure use of generative AI tools, but until then, employees are prohibited from using them. Other companies, including JPMorgan and Bank of America, have also restricted or banned the use of such tools.
