Universal Music Group has announced that its virtual universe metaverse group Kingship, which features characters based on the cover of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT, has partnered with music producers and hit writers for Beyoncé, Jay Z and Bruno Mars.
Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy will serve as co-executive producers and songwriters for Bored Ape and will work to create music for NFT-inspired characters to perform in the video and immersive online worlds of the metaverse.
Kingship was created by UMG 22:22 label and its head Celine Joshua. The characters in the group are based on the NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club. In July, Kingship launched its own NFT project, issuing 5,000 Ethereum keycards that provide special access to exclusive content and future uses for the token.
