Uber CEO: "Uber Will Accept Bitcoin As Payment One Day" - The Crypto Basic

Uber Technologies Inc. will one day join Microsoft Corp. by accepting bitcoin as a payment method in its app.

Khosrowshahi cited the cost of exchanges, which can incur high transaction fees, and the environmental impact of digital mining are the reasons why Uber has yet to implement the technology.

“We talk all the time, As the exchange mechanism becomes less expensive and more environmentally friendly, I think you will see that we are leaning a bit more towards crypto.”

Dara Khosrowshahi, chief executive officer, said that Uber will accept cryptocurrencies “at some point” in the future. “That is not the right point,” he said Friday in an interview with Bloomberg Television.
