ArchiveNode.io, a free Ethereum mainnet archive node service, has announced it will shut down after three years of providing the service to developers, students, and researchers. The service provided historical blockchain data, which was not accessible on full nodes. ArchiveNode.io said it was shutting down because other alternatives, such as the remote procedure call provider market, have emerged, and its service is no longer necessary. The project was initiated to provide archive data to those without the resources to run their archive node.
