Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency have been amongst the hottest topics in the technology space in recent times. This is due to the number of opportunities that they offer. According to LinkedIn studies, blockchain jobs have grown by over 98% in 2022. Cryptocurrency-related jobs have grown over 395% within the same time. This shows that there is a need to train the number the individuals that will be occupying those positions. This is one of the reasons why some top universities around the world started offering courses on blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. University of Oxford

The Oxford University was one of the first universities to have established blockchain and cryptocurrency departments to tap into the potential of this evolving technology. University of Oxford Blockchain Center was established in 2018. It is headed by renowned academician, Professor Bill Roscue. Prof. Bill's blockchain research group has been able to provide the solution to challenges associated with threats encountered while using quantum computers in handling blockchain activities. The research center was established to provide solutions to the needs of business executives in various disciplines that wish to integrate blockchain activities into their systems. University of California, Berkeley

The University of California Berkeley Blockchain course was started in July 2018. The Team Lead is Rustie Lin. The initial sign-ups for the Blockchain certification were from individuals who have majors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Philosophy, Law, and other STEM courses. The program also targets individuals who have an interest in crypto trading, blockchain development, research and cryptocurrency Analyst, consultant, and more. University College London

University College London is the first university in the United Kingdom to start courses on blockchain technology. It is among the first group of top universities around the world that saw the need of creating a Blockchain department. The University of London Centre for Blockchain Technology was established in 2015. It was created to provide solutions to the risk associated with Decentralized Ledger Technology (DLT). For graduate students doing their Masters, the University College London offers courses on Emerging Digital Technologies and Financial Technologies. Its undergraduate courses are in the areas of cryptocurrency technology, blockchain technology, monetary system, and financial system. The department is coordinated by over 20 associates. The executive program of the University College London runs for 10 weeks.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Blockchain Technology courses was started around 2018. It has Professor Gary Genslar as one of its coordinators. The program was targeted at business executives and individuals who want to gain knowledge of blockchain, how it works, how blockchain can be used in cryptography, and the creation of cryptocurrencies. National University of Singapore

The National University of Singapore Blockchain Technology Department was started in 2017. It is presently led by an Adjunct Associate Professor, Neo Kok Beng. The research center offers courses for undergraduate and postgraduate certificates in blockchain technology. Students are taught through live sessions onsite, recorded video sessions, mentorship, and lecture notes. Participants are equipped with blockchain innovative business knowledge that could be applied in the real estate sector, fintech establishments, media platforms, logistics, finance, and other areas. University of Zurich

The University of Zurich Center for Advanced Studies in Blockchain Technology started activities in 2017. It became a Competence Center for the training of students and experts in 2019 when it started admitting students. The Blockchain Center is coordinated by Academia from various departments in the University which include Informatics, Business, and Law. There are over 20 experienced researchers in the Universe of Zurich Center for Advanced Studies in Blockchain Technology.
