Norwegian company Opera has released a public beta version of the browser with built-in Web 3.0 features for Windows, macOS, and Android devices.
Opera’s new public beta browser includes a new non-custodial wallet that allows you to access cryptocurrencies or login to dapps without installing extensions.
The developers have also provided a secure clipboard that ensures that no applications change the blockchain address or other sensitive data.
The new browser features a Crypto Corner-themed page containing the latest crypto industry news, asset prices, educational content, a calendar of events including upcoming airdrops, and other industry information.
Twitter, Telegram, and WhatsApp are integrated into the Crypto Browser sidebar.
The app supports multiple blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Celo, and Nervos. The developers announced the imminent integration of Ethereum L2 networks.

In Opera blog post, the company states:
“The Opera Crypto Browser Project is specifically designed to work with a variety of decentralized apps, or dApps, as well as provide deeper functionality than a traditional browser that has a basic web wallet add-on. For starters, the Crypto Corner gives you access to the latest blockchain news, upcoming airdrops, an industry events calendar, NFTs, crypto communities, educational content, podcasts, and videos, as well as crypto prices, gas fees, and market sentiment. The browser also includes a new native non-custodial crypto wallet which allows you to access your crypto or sign in to dApps directly from the browser, without installing any extensions.”
Recall that in 2018, the company introduced a Web 3.0-ready browser with a built-in Ethereum wallet for Android. Six months later, a version for iOS was released. In 2020, Opera became the first major browser to add decentralized domain support through a partnership with Unstoppable Domains.
