Morgan Stanley Employee Compares Bitcoin to a South Park Character

Speaking at Morningstar's annual investment conference on Sept. 23, Morgan Stanley's Dennis Lynch compared the volatility of Bitcoin (BTC) with that of Kenny McCormick, a character from South Park that dies in almost every episode but then returns back unharmed without any explanation.

“I like to say that bitcoin is kind of like Kenny from South Park, you know, the guy dies every episode and he’s back again.”

Kenny always dying is a joke that continues throughout the first seasons of South Park with the character even dying 3 times in one episode. The show’s creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker decided to kill Kenny forever in the Emmy-winning episode called “Kenny Dies” with the character later returning to the series and his bad luck was over.

Overall, Kenny has died 98 times in the series with a total of 126 times under South Park (98 in the series, 12 in the short films, 14 in the videogames, 2 in the cinema, and 1 in the period 7-11 intro).

On the other hand, Bitcoin has been declared dead a total of 430 times by its critics since the beginning with the oldest death notice dating back to December 15, 2010.
