Leading cryptocurrency aggregator CoinMarketCap (CMC) has added Floki Inu (FLOKI) to three categories on the platform.

According to data from CMC, Floki Inu is now listed in three categories: Daggone Doggerel, play-to-earn (P2E), and the metaverse.

Floki Inu took to Twitter yesterday to celebrate the new achievement, saying:

“FLOKI has now been added to the Metaverse, Gaming, and PlayToEarn categories on industry-leading crypto tracking website @CoinMarketCap.”

Floki Inu noted that development would further bolster the visibility of its native token, which is now listed alongside other metaverse and P2E cryptocurrency projects like Axie Infinity (AXS), Decentraland (MANA), ApeCoin (APE), etc.

“This gives #FLOKI massive visibility alongside projects like $GALA, $AXS, $SAND, $MANA, and $APE,” it added.

FLOKI Is Up 2.77% in 24 Hours As Trading Volume Slumps

Meanwhile, the development did not have much impact on the price of the FLOKI. At press time, FLOKI is trading at $0.00001215, up 2.77% over the past 24 hours.

Adding FLOKI to CMC’s gaming and metaverse categories was meant to boost the token’s visibility and adoption. The move did not contribute positively to the crypto asset’s trading volume. At the time of writing this line, FLOKI has a 24-hour trading volume of $3.98 million, down 17% in the past day.

FLOKI’s Entrance in the Crypto Gaming Sector

It is not surprising to see FLOKI added to CMC’s gaming and metaverse category. The popular dog-themed multi-chain gaming crypto project has been making significant moves to make its mark in the crypto gaming and metaverse industry.

Last month, the team behind Floki Inu released the first edition of its P2E game, dubbed Valhalla, on the Optimism blockchain’s official testnet Optimism Goerli.

Floki Inu’s Growing Popularity

Meanwhile, Floki Inu is gradually gaining widespread popularity after launching in June 2021. The team behind the project has embarked on a series of initiatives that have triggered the crypto community’s attention. As reported on February 24, the Floki team entered into a partnership with Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo. The partnership boosted the doggy-themed crypto project’s global recognition as the Floki Inu logo featured on ORLEN cars used by the Alfa Romeo team.

Floki Inu has also embarked on certain philanthropic initiatives, which led to the building of schools in several underdeveloped countries, including Nigeria and Guatemala.
