A startup led by crypto-industry veteran, Gabor Gurbacs has sealed a partnership with the Pittsburgh Pirates, an American professional baseball team based in Pittsburgh, to launch a rewards program platform.

According to an update from Gurbacs, who is also the Director of Digital Assets Strategy at the Van Eck Associates Corporation, he will partner with the American baseball team to launch PointsVille.

PointsVille is a rewards-management app that creates points and rewards-based promotions, inventing a medium for companies to engage with fans. The app will address the rising demand for more digital-focused experiences by the public

Thanks to the partnership with the Major League Baseball team, season-ticket holders can now earn and spend loyalty points through the new app PointsVille.

PointsVille also has a digital wallet, something that is common among other crypto apps where users can store any loyalty points they earn.

Travis Williams, the president of the American baseball team, expressed his views towards the new partnership, saying that it will bring together Pirates fans, sponsors, and community partners all over western Pennsylvania and also open a way to appreciate their loyal Season Ticket Holders.

With the latest partnership already in motion, Pointville revealed that it is working with Tickets.com, has the support of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange, and is open to working with other Major League Baseball clubs as well.

Gurbacs, expressing his joy at the latest deal, hopes that the new app with its gamified crypto-like experience will appeal to the public who are interested in cryptocurrency. He told Coinfomania,

PointsVille is the next generation of augmented reality rewards app for sports, finance, and crypto exchanges. We are excited to add value to businesses locally, globally, and remotely.

Outside of PointsVille, Gabor Gurbacs is also leading VanEck’s quest to deliver the first Bitcoin ETF for the U.S. market.
