Investigation and Raids for Power Stealing
Reported Tuesday at 11:25 UTC on Asian News International (ANI); cops in Malaysia were tipped off about some power stealing conduct. Inspecting further, they conducted raids about multiple premises seizing a total of 297 bitcoin mining machines and other electrical equipment worth about RM 100,00 (Malaysian currency Ringgit), i.e., $2,426.60 (USD).
Offender: a Chinese Duo
The local paper, The Daily, on Monday, cited Serdang Deputy Officer in Charge of Police District (OCPD) Supt. Mohammad Rosdi Daud. He divulged, they carried out raids at three sites leading them to the arrest of the Chinese duo. He described the “two Chinese nationals” were a man and a woman, aged 32 and 38, respectively.
Lawbreakers Under Remand
On the same day, to the reporters at Serdang police headquarters, located in the Serdang town in Selangor state, Supt. Rosdi Daud added further investigation of the premise revealed “evidence of tampering with the electricity supply.” The lawbreakers had been operating from the located site for at least a month. Going by officer Rosdi’s words, the two non-native offenders are currently under remand until April 28 “to help with investigations.”

The illicit conduct caused the Malaysian multinational electricity company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), a loss of at least RM 130,000, i.e., around $31,545.75.
