Ankr, a leading software platform and decentralized infrastructure provider, has launched Ankr V2, a decentralized web service (DWS) portal that allows developers to create Web3 systems, products, and services, Invezz learned from a press release.

The platform announced that it would distribute grants of more than $10 million over a period of two years. They are aimed at improving distributed supercomputer growth and rewarding educational initiatives related to Web3 development.

Josh Neuroth, Head of Product at Ankr, said:

Ankr is focused on improving the principles of autonomy and decentralization that are foundational to the success of blockchain technology. We believe the crypto economy needs a decentralized and trustless network where individual operators are incentivized to support blockchain networks and build better products.

Ankr has launched over 25K node end points since 2018

Since its founding in 2018, Ankr has been offering API, staking, and hosting solutions and deploying full nodes and validator nodes for users and networks. It serves over 50 blockchains and L2 solutions and has launched more than 25,000 node end-points to 75,000 developers. The TVL of its staking node infrastructure exceeds $500 million.

Ankr processes crypto transactions worth over $1 billion every month. More than 200 node operators contribute to decentralization.

Very promising PoC testing with Fantom and Polygon

Ankr achieved more than 20 billion RPC (Remote Procedure Calls) per week during testing phase as a proof-of-concept with Fantom (FTM/USD) and Polygon (MATIC/USD). It is on track to fulfill 80 billion calls monthly. Ankr now supports Ethereum (ETH/USD), Polkadot (DOT/USD), and many other leading blockchains.

Community is given full control over Ankr V2

Soon, the Ankr community will have full control over Ankr V2 thanks to ANKR DAO, which will create an open governance model for distribution of grants and other developments of the Ankr protocol. The node network enables Ankr’s Public RPC, which facilitates development of MetaMask and other highly-functional DApps and DeFi protocols that require interaction and data on multiple chains.

Chandler Song, CEO and co-founder of Ankr, said:

We believe that the crypto economy will be served best by self-funded communities and DAOs, not service providers going down the same centralized path of the past. This is a big step for Ankr in becoming a community-first service that the growing Web 3.0 movement will rely on.

Grant program targets wide variety of Web3 users

The grant program will target a wide variety of Web3 users including smart contract developers, independent node operators who want to run nodes on Ankr, and creators of tutorials.
