After last week’s activities, there are developments from the BNB Chain ecosystem. To keep readers informed, Altcoin Buzz covers some of the updates from the third week in February.

In this week’s article, Binance Smart Chain (BSC) rebrands to BNB Chain. In addition, the new BNB Chain has launched the DeFi League. Let’s take a look at the latest BSC updates.

1 – BSC Rebrands to BNB Chain

During the week, Binance Smart Chain (BSC) announced it will rebrand to the BNB Chain ecosystem. Notably, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Binance Chain, and the $BNB utility token make up the new BNB Chain ecosystem.

This development will give BNB Chain more opportunities for innovations, developments, and adoption, it’s also expected to continue the previous BSC programs and initiatives.

2 – BNB Chain Launches DeFi League

After rebranding to BNB Chain, the platform is launching the first initiative dubbed the “DeFi League.” This initiative involves a group of projects working together with the aim of developing a collaborative community, improving innovations, and improving security for users, data, and assets.

Next on our list of BSC updates, there is also a Certik report about the safety score of BNB Chain projects. According to the report:

• PancakeSwap ($CAKE) and Biswap ($BSW) are the joint top projects with a safety score of 96.
• Metahero ($HERO) and Swipe ($SXP) are next with a safety score of 95.
• MOBOX ($MBOX) is next with a safety score of 94.

4 – BNB Chain Projects by Altrank

During the week, a LunarCrush report revealed the latest rankings of BNB Chain projects by Altrank. Based on the report:

• Feed Every Gorilla ($FEG) is the top-rated BNB Chain project in 4^th place.
• Position Token ($POSI) is the second-rated BNB Chain project in 9^th place.
• EverRise Inu ($RISE) is the third BNB Chain project and in 10^th place.
• PancakeSwap ($CAKE) is the fourth BNB Chain project and just outside the top ten in 12^th place.

5 – dApps Performance on the BNB Chain Ecosystem

In the last of our BSC updates, we’ll also take a look at a dApp report showing the performance of dApps based on the BNB Chain in terms of transaction volume. The report is based on a seven-day time frame:

• PancakeSwap ($CAKE) is 1^st in terms of transaction volume with $2.6 billion within a seven-day time frame.
• Venus Protocol ($XVS) is 2^nd with $1.19 billion in transaction volume within a seven-day time frame.

As of the time of publication, BNB’s price was $374.33 with a 24-hour trading volume of $1,170,664,353. BNB price increased by 1.6% over the last 24 hours. Besides, it has a circulating supply of 168 million BNB coins and a total supply of 168 million.
